Packages are picked up by a dedicated courier, delivered to the nearest UPS Air Gateway, and then transported via UPS Air to the UPS Secure Hub in Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout the journey, secure shipments are placed in pink bags or sealed with pink tape, ensuring high visibility and clear identification from origin to destination.
Upon arrival in Louisville, Secure packages are offloaded first, bypass all conveyor systems, and are moved directly into the Secure holding facility until their next departure. Within the Secure hub, bonded couriers and armed guards manage every handoff in accordance with strict high-value, high-risk (HVHR) protocols.
When it's time to depart, Secure packages are loaded last onto the aircraft, ensuring controlled handling and secure recovery at the destination with continuous supervision and avoiding unnecessary mechanical movement.
